Pastor Vic is a long time resident of Little Village. Born in Nuevo Ideal Durango, Mexico, he came to Chicago in 1975 as an 8 year old. His family settled at 30th and Komensky, and he attended and graduated from Eli Whitney Elementary School. He attended Harrison High School, and graduated from Farragut High School when Harrison closed. He is a 1992 graduate of Christian Life College in Mt. Prospect.

 

Victor has been in full time ministry since 1992, and has been the pastor of La Villita Community Church since 1998. In this role, he shares the vision that the church be a resource in the neighborhood for the neighborhood, and the building is constantly used by other community organizations, churches and schools. He believes that success comes as community organizations, schools, churches and individuals value and work with each other.

 

He and his wife Magdalena recently celebrated 20 years of marriage. They are the proud parents of two boys, Victor and Isaih.
